Covid-19 Information Straw Bale Design Workshops
Our #1 priority is making sure we all stay safe. For that reason, we will be enforcing the following measures and CDC guidelines during each workshop. Our goal is to provide an inclusive educational experience, where all participants can feel safe and enjoy a comfortable learning environment.
If you do not feel like you can meet the requirements set forth below, we ask that you not sign up.
Please bear in mind that these protocols may change as the situation on the ground changes and new guidelines and/or restrictions are put in place by the CDC or local authorities. Hopefully, we will continue to dampen down global cases as a result of all of our efforts!
International travel into and out of the United States may be restricted due to COVID, so be sure to check the most recent requirements HERE before registering for a workshop or making travel plans. Entering the US by air has had more restrictions than entering by land; however, restrictions may apply in either case.
Waiver & Agreement
The following text is part of our required COVID Waiver and Agreement, a copy of which you can find HERE.
This waiver must be signed by all participants. This waiver is in addition to our standard workshop waiver and is sent out 3 days prior to the workshop start date.
By signing the Acknowledgment, Assumption, and Waiver, Participant further attests that:
- I am not experiencing any symptom of illness such as cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell.
- I do not believe I have been exposed to someone with a suspected and/or confirmed case of COVID.
- I have not been diagnosed with nor received a presumptive diagnosis of COVID and not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities.
- I am following all CDC recommended guidelines as much as possible and limiting my exposure to COVID.
All individuals are encouraged to get vaccinated, as scientific data has shown that vaccinations are the single most powerful tool we have against the COVID pandemic. This is not a political statement. Rather, it is a reflection of generations of scientific research, the dedication of professionals within the medical field, and proven data-driven research. At this time, we do not require that participants be vaccinated, but we strongly recommend it for the health of our communities. Local regulations regarding group gatherings and vaccination requirements shall take precedence and be enforced if in place.
Hand Washing & Sanitizing
Hand washing and sanitizing stations are provided by our classroom host. Everyone is encouraged to use them regularly, especially before meals.
Our Happy-Hour gatherings are always a ton of fun, and we expect them to be for this experience. We will maintain the same guidelines, even though we will be “off the clock.”
These are new and challenging times. We may need to change the requirements due to new recommendations from federal, state, or local authorities.
We appreciate your flexibility and understanding and are so very excited to spend time with you all both in and out of the classroom: something we are all valuing in new ways since 2020!

*Covid-19 Specific Refund Policy On Design Workshops*
We have modified our cancellation policy during this period for Design Workshops while we all deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
If a Local, County, State, or Federal agency imposes restrictions on the number of people that can gather (and we have more people signed up than what is allowed for), and/or such agencies impose a travel ban preventing a participant from traveling to a workshop, and/or we are required to cancel the workshop entirely as a result of newly imposed restrictions, we can offer the following option for registered participants:
The Participant can transfer their tuition to another available Design Workshop location. Tuition credit must be used within 1 year of the start date of the Design Workshop originally signed up for. We recommend you transfer your tuition early in order to secure your spot; we will give priority registration to those who have had a Design Workshop cancel before we open it up to general registration. If a workshop cancels because of COVID, most participants will want to transfer to another one, which could greatly limit the number of spots we have available.
