  1. Hi. I’m going to be building a straw bale house in a hot part of Australia. I just wanted to let you know I really appreciate the resource you’ve built here! You’ve basically answered all of the questions I’ve had that were not answered in any of the books I’ve found to read. Thanks a lot!

  2. Hi. Andrew,
We are Larry and Lucretia Klungtvet. We lived in Paradise, CA for 30+ years. We lost our home in the Camp-Fire in Northern California. We are seriously wanting to rebuild there, with a Straw Bale home. We have so many questions and having a hard time finding anyone who is willing to help us figure it all out. If you would be willing to talk to us and give us some honest guidance, we could come to Jacksonville to meet. We would love to see what you all are doing there. Thank you for your consideration.

    1. Hi Larry and Lucretia. Sorry for the delayed response. I am sorry to hear of your loss. That must have been (continue to be) very stressful. I don’t know if you are still looking for help, but please let me know if you are. It’s much better to email me at [email protected] as I don’t communicate through the blog nearly as often. When things get busy, the blog is something I put on hold so that I can communicate with folks directly.

  3. Andrew, hope you are still out there building strawbale houses. We recently purchased a straw built house on The upper Applegate. Falling in . Love with it. Only problem we have so far is insurance. Can you share some of your wisdom with us. Linda Linman

    1. Insurance is such a weird one as so many companies are fine with straw bale in one part of the country and not in others. It’s random and hard to navigate. I would suggest Allstate, Geico, AAA, Llyods of London, State Farm, or Country Companies. Hopefully you can find success with one of those. Good luck!
