Depending on your location, finding a savvy straw bale-building professional to assist in building your dreams may be challenging. Here are trade tips on how to overcome those challenges and a searchable list of straw bale-building professionals to help you develop your structure right the first time, saving you costly errors, networking you with local resources, and permitting process knowledge (and relationships!), plus you’ll be learning from the pros as you go through your build process.
You absolutely CAN build your own home, as so many have shown us over the years. And, there are some areas of the build that you may want to leverage working with a pro. We recommend you choose someone with whom you feel comfortable, have great rapport, and easy communication. If possible, choose a pro with building, designing, etc. experience directly with straw bale construction’s unique requirements.
If not, then a pro who is interested and eager to learn with you is also a great fit!
