Many stock plans are just that, plans that were created without any person or site in particular in mind. They are designed for a generic lot and for the generic person.
These plans were originally created for someone in particular. The clients, in most cases, have actually had the home built and are enjoying living in it. In some cases, a client changed their mind pre-build; however, the designer or architect saw the value in the design and completed it anyway.
While each plan in our collection contains varying amounts of information (as each designer or architect includes different details), we hold ourselves to very high standards and are confident that the plans we sell will meet or exceed your expectations regarding quality and detail.
If you have specific questions about the contents of a particular set of plans, please contact us [email protected]. If we don’t have an answer at hand, we will discuss your question with the designer and get back to you promptly. What’s important to remember is that most of the homes showcased here have already been built, from the very plans that you have the opportunity to purchase. As such, much of the work has already been done for you. Consider that a typical architect will charge 5-20% of the construction cost of the finished house for a custom home design. If a home costs $400,000 to build. The original person for whom the design was made would have paid anywhere from $20,000 – $80,000 for those plans! That investment (and the attention to detail from that investment!) is still in the plan; only you don’t have to wait 6 months for them to be drawn, nor do you have to pay the full price of the plan development. That’s a win for you and a big reason why we offer select stock plans – we want to help you get your straw bale home!
